National Institute of  Public Administration (NIPA), Karachi, a constituent unit of the National School of Public Policy (NSPP) is a premier “in-service” training institution for public servants in the country. Since being established in 1961, NIM Karachi has been conducting a number of programs every year in the domain of public policy and management. The institution is also involved in research and analysis of key public policy issues.

NIPA, Karachi, in addition to conducting “in-service” mandatory trainings of civil servants at mid-career and senior management levels, also organizes customized training and courses for different public sector entities. The courses are designed to provide modern tools and skills sets to the participants, as also to enhance their understanding of national and international issues, sharpen analytical capabilities and strengthen decision making capacities. The fundamental aim is to strengthen capacities for effective management of programs and to improve public service delivery.

The National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA), Karachi, (erstwhile NIPA), is one of the most prestigious public sector training institutes of Pakistan, imparting quality training and collaborative learning with high career outcomes to middle and senior-level civil servants in the country since 1961.

NIPA is dedicated to build upon and improvise public sector development and public service delivery through imparting quality training to civil servants working in diverse organizations, through providing them with engagement with an excellent blend of permanent and visiting faculty members, comprising of serving and retired academics and practitioners from diverse fields. NIPA Karachi is noted as a pioneer in creating a state of art virtual training environment in keeping with the changing training needs and innovative online learning excellence standards.

NIPA Karachi offers a Senior Management Course (SMC), a rigorous training program for BS 19 Officers of the Government of Pakistan eligible for next promotion, who are further trained to formulate and implement public strategy at higher levels, after their promotion. NIM also offers a Mid-Career Management Course (MCMC) for BS 18 Officers with the objective to upgrade their professional capacity and performance that is professionally expected in public service.
